Day 6 : Thekkady : Spice Village
Drive (4 hours) up the eastern slopes of the Western Ghats, the Cardamom Hills and stay at Spice Village Resort. In the afternoon take an exclusive boat ride on Lake Periyar in the National Park. Spice Village is on a spice plantation with pepper vines, cardamom and other spices growing around the thatch-roofed cottages. The Periyar Tiger Reserve surrounds the reservoir constructed in the 1870s and is now home to many species of wild animal.

After an early morning boat ride, enjoy a jungle safari either by jeep or on foot. Visit a spice plantation and a Tribal village.
 

Day 8 : Kumarakom : Coconut Lagoon
Drive (3 hours) down the western slopes of the Ghats where you will experience breathtaking views of tea, rubber and palm plantations. Arrive at Kumarakom jetty where you will transfer by boat to Coconut Lagoon, a serene resort of cottages in a palm grove on the banks of Lake Vembanad, part of the Backwaters.
